Map Skills Test

The ATP World Tennis Finals began this week and will conclude with the final this coming Monday. It is a tournament that is considered the climax to a strenuous 11 month season. This has reinvigorated the debate on the length of the tennis season and how much travelling the players have to endure.

2012 has been particularly demanding as the top four players: Novak Djokovic, Roger Federer, Andy Murray and Rafael Nadal have shared all of the major championships between them.  The increase in competiveness has only served to make the tour even more challenging.

In the map below I monitor the travelling of British number one Andy Murray to all of the major championships. In addition, I will review the results of the tournaments to demonstrate how competitive the season has been heading into the ATP World Tour Finals.

Total miles Murray has travelled this season: 56,860
